Earlier this week, three Oklahoma National guard soldiers from the 149th Aviation Unit were lost when their helicopter crashed. Reports have said they were flying from Kuwait when some kind of mechanical failure happened. I've seen news reports about soldiers either from Oklahoma or with Oklahoma ties who won't be coming home. But this one really hit hard. I guess since it's so close to the time when Daniel will be going over. And, since the reports mentioned they were moving from Kuwait to Iraq. Daniel is supposed to be stationed in Kuwait once he arrives over there. It makes you think of that horrible "what if" scenario. Don't get me wrong, that "what if" is usually there anyway, but things like this shine a spotlight on it. For me it does, anyway.
If you're reading this, please take a moment to pray/think about the families of Sgt. Dan Eshbaugh, Cpl. Michael Thompson, and Chief Warrant Officer Brady Rudolf. And don't forget all the others who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
